Small Groups Info!!!

Small groups will be a very beneficial part of learning and sharing as we work through The Story. A number of people have stepped forward to lead small groups starting next week. Please take a look at the information below. Sign up sheets will be available on Sunday. Feel free to contact the office if you have any questions.

Sunday's 9-10am - reading group at the church led by Tim & Caitlin Matwey (Starting October 8th with chapter 2)

Sunday's 7pm - discussion group at Jack & Dale-Ann van Leusden's

Monday evenings - discussion group at Berny & Jan Klassen's

Tuesday's 7:30pm - discussion group at Derek & Molly van Leusden's (alternating weeks men & women)

Wednesday's 7pm - discussion group at Waldo & Sydney Klause's

Wednesday's 7:30-9pm - video & discussion group at the church led by Pastor Kevin

Friday's 7:45pm - discussion group at Wendell & Carmel Dalke's

Committing to something like this can sometimes seem daunting. But we invite you to take a chance and be a part of a group. The hard part is being looked after. The hosts listed above have taken the initiative by opening their homes and committing their time. All you have to do is sign up and show up. In the words of Woody Allen "80% of life is just showing up."

We will be starting a 31 week series on October 1st, working through the book The Story.

Books – The Story will be available for you to pick up over the next 4 Sundays. See Robyn in the foyer to get your copy! The suggested donation price for the books is $10 per copy.

One of the best ways to get the most out of "The Story" is to engage it with others along the way. Therefore, we would like to offer many options for small groups. Here is a list of different types of groups:

Reading groups - This would be a group that gathers to read the chapter of the Story (preferably aloud) and then has some discussion or sharing about the chapter.

Discussion Groups - This would be a group that gathers to watch a short video (10 minutes approximately) and then discusses some questions pertaining to the chapter they have read and the video.

Study groups - This would be a group that gathers to look more in depth at either the chapter that is presented, or a specific aspect within the chapter. There are many resources available for this even ranging from specific men's bible study, to 31 Women of the Bible Study.

Now, the only thing we need is leaders for these types of groups.  Could you be one of them? Please contact the office or Pastor Kevin to sign up for leadership or ask any questions you might have. We would like to have our leaders formalized by September 21st

Thank you so much. Pastor Kevin.

 Food Bank Sorting
We need about 10 volunteers from our FBC Community to help out with sorting food up at the Cranbrook Food Bank warehouse. This is something that young and old and all in between can participate in quite easily. Come this Thursday, June 22nd at 6:30pm at their warehouse on Industrial Road B. If you need directions please give Aaron a call (250-919-7892).

Tuesday, 13 June 2017

Just a reminder that there will be no church service at FBC this Sunday, June 18th
Instead, join us for a community wide church service at Balment Park from 9-10:15am.
There will be a family fun games day in the park from 11am-4pm, so stick around after the service! If you would like to help out with the games, please contact Aaron.
